About the job:
We’re hiring a QA Engineer to perform system tests, Integration testing, sanity checks on developer branches and working closely with the developer team to help them deliver quality code. You will prepare systems for use, create and execute scripted and exploratory tests, validate builds received from the upstream platform team, and capture high‑quality evidence. The work is hands-on in Linux/networked environments and requires practical scripting to set up environments and triage issues. The role is more manual testing and writing small scripts rather than building a fully operational test automation framework. The pace is very high and the environment is constantly changing and we hope you see this as fun and challenging issues.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work together with the QA team as their representative in Singapore
- Prepare systems and test environments (installation, configuration, network setup, test data provisioning)
- Retrieve build artifacts/configuration from the upstream platform team; integrate and validate for testing
- Execute and possibly create scripted test cases and conduct exploratory testing across networked components and services
- Perform manual functional, regression, integration and smoke testing
- Collect logs and evidence; file clear, reproducible defect reports and verify fixes
- Communicate status, risks and readiness clearly to stakeholders across time zones; support APAC/Singapore team needs
Must‑Have Skills
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, subnets, routing/switching basics, DNS/DHCP; packet capture/analysis familiarity).
- Linux OS proficiency (installation, services, networking tools, log analysis, shell usage for setup/triage).
- Discipline in manual testing: meticulous test execution, evidence gathering, and defect reporting.
- Ability to read technical specs and translate them into actionable test scenarios/checklists.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- DevOps background (basic CI/CD concepts, containers, infrastructure fundamentals) to interface effectively with platform teams.
- Experience with issue tracking (e.g., Jira) and Git-based workflows for retrieving build artifacts/config.
Who You Are
- Early‑career QA professional or recent graduate with hands‑on Linux/networking exposure.
- Comfortable using the terminal and light scripting to prepare environments and diagnose issues.
- Clear communicator with strong attention to detail and follow‑through.
- Collaborative, reliable, and comfortable supporting teams across time zones.
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
